The Youth Pride Art Show in Rockland and Pride Walk in Rockport are happening now! Make sure to include these in your itinerary for your June visit to Midcoast Maine!

The Belfast Co-op is ‘selling’ colorful hearts people can decorate. The hearts are made into streamers to fill the co-op’s store windows. Heart sales benefit OUT Maine.

Camden Windward House will be selling Pride swag and accepting donations for OUT Maine in June.

(Sold OUT) Ruckus Donuts baked and sold Pride donuts ! All profits from Pride Donut sales were donated to OUT Maine. Thank you Todd!

Zoot Coffee will be selling Pride swag and accepting donations for OUT Maine in June. East Fork Mask Co. (masks sold at Zoot Coffee) made a generous donation of  rainbow masks to the OUT Maine team. Thank you!

Ellsworth, ME

Events

Ellsworth Pride Fest, June 13th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at Knowlton Park. Organized by Ellsworth Pride. Entertainment, food, and more! Masks and social distance encouraged. Bring seating and/or a picnic blanket for the entertainment. Performances will include Beach Trash (band), Curbside Queens (drag show), Members of the EHS Show Choir, EHS Jazz Band Combo, and Drag Queen Story Hour.

Art

Pride Zoo at Knowlton Park. Organized by the Ellsworth High School GSDA. Pride-themed animal sculptures will decorate Knowlton Park!

Kennebunkport, ME

Lisbon Falls, ME

Definitive Brewing is selling a limited edition Pride sticker in June with 100% of the proceeds from the sticker going to OUT Maine as well as OUT Maine Pride swag.

Art

The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) is hosting the Youth Pride Art Show! The Youth Pride Art Show is on display in the ArtLab window of the Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) at 21 Winter Street in Rockland for the month of June. See the Youth Pride page for details.

Rockland Main Street is collaborating with the City of Rockland and the Arts in Action community mural program to create a Rainbow Crosswalk in downtown Rockland! For details please email, rasaartsinaction@gmail.com

Erickson Fields is displaying poetry and accompanying art by LGBTQ+ and allied youth along the Pride Walk trail. Erickson Fields is located at 164 West St. in Rockport, ME. See the Youth Pride page for more information.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN PRIDE MONTH?

Pride Webinar with Carrie Kutny

Ellsworth GSTA advisor Carrie Kutny shares her experience creating rainbow sidewalks and organizing youth-led Pride projects. Watch the webinar here.

Individuals

Volunteer for Pride planning or be the first to plan a Pride event in your town. Consider a parade, art show, picnic, dance, concert, or a fair! All of these can be virtual or socially-distanced. For example, last year Orono and Ellsworth had public outdoor art shows called Pride Zoos.

Offices

Hold a fundraiser/donation bucket/raffle to support LGBTQ+ youth in your office! Organize a Pride-themed office party, get creative! Hang PRIDE flags in your office windows for the month of June.

Businesses & Shops

Put a Pride Flag in your windows and on your doors, cash registers, etc. Put out a donation bucket for the month of Pride for LGBTQ+ youth. Consider announcing your PRIDE by promoting a week or month’s worth of some portion of your proceeds to be donated to support LGBTQ+ youth.

Restaurants

Consider announcing your PRIDE with a night, week or month’s worth of some portion of your proceeds donated to support LGBTQ+ youth. Dining OUT in Maine for Queer Youth. Put a PRIDE flag in your window for the month of June.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR LGBTQ+ YOUTH!

Donate

Maine businesses and organizations who donate $100 or more to OUT Maine will receive a full-sized Pride Flag to display at their storefront or place of work.

To get your flag, make your donation now or before June 18th (while supplies last)!

Fundraise

If proceeds of your fundraiser go to OUT Maine to support Maine’s LGBTQ+ youth, we will give you a Pride Flag and a fundraising kit with swag for donors, brochures and mail-in donation cards. We also will promote your fundraiser on our website.*

*Please note that since OUT Maine is a youth organization, we cannot promote the sale of alcoholic, tobacco or other age-restricted goods on our website or social media, but we will announce your business is fundraising for us.
