State 4-H programs leaders from across New England gathered at the Northeast Extension LGBTQ+ Virtual Symposium in June. The symposium intended to help 4-H leaders better understand and address the needs of LGBTQ+ youth and their families as they deliver youth programming.

Sue Campbell, OUT Maine’s Deputy Director, shared about OUT Maine’s programs and resources, with a focus on best practices for inclusive programming when engaging LGBTQ+ youth. Participants were excited to have access to OUT Maine’s newly published guide Best Practices for inclusive LGBTQ+ youth programming. A free copy of the guide can be requested at outmaine.org.
