May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Sometimes life gets busy and we forget to take the time to appreciate ourselves and others. Over the last two years there has been a lot of unpredictability and change, which can feel scary. Take some time to support your own mental health. Spend time outside in the sunshine, look at the birds, or make shapes out of the clouds! Whatever you choose to do, don’t forget to honor yourself!
Supporting ourselves is extremely important. However, it is also important to support one another. By creating more inclusive and affirming school environments students will feel safe to express themselves. Spend some time with your students doing the activity Looking at Ourselves Closely and reflect on each other’s differences and what you would like to change about your school community to make it more inclusive and accepting.
